Even when economic times are tight, our children enjoy an abundance of material possessions. Yet, amidst all this wealth, discontentment and competition seem to be on the rise. Instead of teaching children virtues such as gratefulness and patience, many parents are bending over backwards to get their children the latest and greatest item - or feeling guilty when they can't. With the currents of materialism and entitlement flowing so strong, how do we raise kids who are simply thankful? With simple language, interesting anecdotes, and biblical applications, Susie Larson helps readers understand that although teaching perspective and gratitude to our children is critical, it is not difficult.

    Christ based realistic parenting guide

Wow this book was the first parenting book I have read from cover to cover and re-read most chapters twice. The reason why is that it was so practical, so applicable to my family and such interesting reading. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis book is not a step by step discipline book, or how to love your kids more book but rather a well rounded example of what Christian parenting should look like. Every chapter challenged me to strive to be more Christ like. The author shared many of her own experiences with humour and honesty and this made for refreshing reading. I didn't feel like a failure but was encouraged to continue on the path I had started with my children. A great book for all Christian parents who are trying to raise well balanced Christ centred children in the self centred society we live in now!
