William Lane Craig offers answers to questions commonly asked by Christians struggling with doubt or fear, showing that the only sure foundation for hope is God Himself. Includes chapters on some of the most volatile issues of our day* Why doesn't God answer my prayers?* If God is so powerful, why does evil exist? * And if He is so good, why do we suffer?
Nonbelievers, and even Christians, are often troubled by questions about suffering, doubt, failure, and unanswered prayer. Yet careful, compassionate answers are hard to find, in part because evangelicals have not taken the life of the mind seriously enough. The intellectual currents of our day are just too strong for simplistic responses.
*In Hard Questions, Real Answers*, William Lane Craig doesn't offer trite phrases or pat answers - he offers honest insights gained from a life of study and ministry. Readers in the midst of doubt and confusion will find real answers to these perplexing questions and learn to stand on the only sure foundation for hope - God Himself.
This expanded new edition includes chapters on abortion and homosexuality to help readers know how to think about these volatile social issues.

This is the first book I've read by Craig, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Craig is both a philosopher and theologian, and he works to his strengths in this book providing timely arguments for hard questions about Christianity. I particularly enjoyed the sections on suffering and abortion, which are well argued and presented. After reading this book, I am keen to read his others!

A much needed book
Hard Questions, Real Answers is a book which (as the name implies) deals with serious issues in which crop up in the Christian walk, such as dealing with doubt, unanswered prayer, failure, as well as suffering and evil, all of which have caused many Christians to walk away from the faith. Craig also deals with important and controversial social issues such as homosexuality, abortion and the exclusivity of Christianity. Craig doesn't beat around the bush but actually engages with the issues themselves. Although Dr. Craig is a leading academic he avoids being overly cerebral about these emotionally important issues, yet he remains eminently reasonable at all times. Often in the Church these issues are either ignored completely or insensitively bulldozed through, Craig offers a genuine, honest, delicate and well researched perspective which is exactly what many of us so desperately need. Although William Lane Craig is an incredible academic and a highly eminent writer this 172 page book is one of his greatest works due to the caring, pastoral approach he gives to all readers whilst remaining faithful to biblical Christianity and saying what needs to be said.
