History Makers: Thomas Boston (Historymakers Series)

Thomas Boston was a Scottish pastor and theologian during the early 18th century. His devotion to his parishioners was exemplary and his contribution to Christian literature is still valuable today. This the only biography of Thomas Boston's life that I know of. While it wonderfully captures the great devotion of Boston to his work and his family, it is written in such a way that it can be difficult to read. The book's chronology is difficult to follow, and there are not enough dates included to be sure of the order of some of the events. Also, the writing style is sometimes more like a Victorian novel rather than a biography. This book is worth reading because of the quality of its subject. It is just a little disappointing that this book does not capitalise on this.
