Surely there's more than one way to get to heaven? Bestselling author Andy Stanley addresses this popular belief held even among Christians. But believing that all good people go to heaven raises major problems, Stanley reveals. Is goodness not rewarded, then? Is Christianity not fair? Maybe not, he says. Readers will find out why Jesus taught that goodness is not even a requirement to enter heaven - and why Christianity is beyond fair. Andy Stanley leads believers and skeptics alike to a grateful awareness of God's enormous grace and mercy. ?Good People Go to Heaven...Don't They? ?"Sure they do. It only makes sense. " ?Actually, it doesn't really make any sense at all. Smart, educated, accomplished men and women everywhere are banking their eternities on a theory that doesn't hold water. A Helpful Evangelistic Tool!

""""Who gets to go to heaven?"""" This is the question that the author, Andy Stanley, seeks to answer. A very common view is that good people go to heaven. Stanley, however, points out that no one knows exactly what good is. Also, our internal moral gauge is of not much help as it can change over time and differ from culture to culture. Besides, there is no clear indication from God how the scoring system for good deeds work. God would be unfair to judge us based on an unclear system. Moreover, the Bible also does not claim to offer a way to heaven through good works. Finally, Jesus himself assured the most religious people of his day that they weren't good enough to go to heaven. So, who gets to go to heaven? Stanley argues that it is forgiven people, not good people, but forgiven people! Forgiven people are people who have received and experienced the grace and mercy of God. Grace is getting what we do not deserve, namely forgiveness and eternal life. Mercy is not getting what we deserve, that is, judgment and hell. In his grace and mercy, God has chosen not to be """"fair"""" as otherwise we would get our just deserts. Instead, he has chosen to forgive. This is a helpful book to use in evangelism.
