How to Get a Date Worth Keeping

For anyone who has just prayed and not acted it for anyone who has tried alone and without a team of supporters, this book is for you. I followed Henry’s advice and found a date worth keeping and we are now married. His advice made logical sense, took the pressure of and made my dating experience a period of growth and learning for me. Highly recommend for those in a dating stage of their life, regardless of your age or circumstances.

I purchased this book at a time I was tired of being single, and really respected Henry Cloud, so I thought it might be a helpful read. The more I read however, the more disappointed I felt. Cloud gives suggestions on how to attain more dates, encouraging you to meet five new people a week. I struggled with the fact he says not to think about where it will go on a date, and don't worry about dating non-Christians. I found this hard to take onboard and something I don't really agree with. I was recently reminded however, that dating in America is a lot different to dating in Australia, so perhaps this is why I found it difficult! I will say though, that if you're looking to make new friends, meet more people, spend time listening to others' stories rather than actively seeking out a marriage partner, then you may find this helpful. Cloud does give some strategies for this, which is not down my alley, but could be for you!
