Ahn Ei Sook stood alone among thousands of kneeling people in defiance of the command to bow to a pagan Japanese shrine. Her remarkable true story reveals the savage persecution of Christians in Korea during World War II.

Ahn E. Sook stood alone among thousands of kneeling people. Her bold defiance of the tyrannical demand to bow to pagan Japanese shrines condemned her to a living death in the filth and degradation of a Japanese prison. This brave woman remained faithful to Christ in the face of brutality, oppression, and ruthlessness of her captors. The story of how she won many of her fellow prisoners to Christ in the most deplorable conditions is an inspiration to all.

    Stunning

This book leaves you stunned. In a way it is an experience so remote from our peaceful modern western life that it is like another world. But the spiritual truths lived are universal and Esther Kam's self discipline and faith are an example that can only inspire and instruct. \\r\\n\\r\\nI was stuck by how she and her mother prepared themselves for the suffering they knew would be the consequence of the bold stand that they took. God has no need for chocolate soldiers and these sisters in Christ were certainly strong and very useful to the Lord. Through them he was able to show His power and faithfulness in the face of unimaginable difficulties. \\r\\n\\r\\nIf you read it you will not soon forget it.
