The police say the woman was a murderer. Emilie Wesley knows they can't be talking about her client ... but she can't prove it.

To the world it seems obvious: Kaylene Turner snapped and killed her daughter and then was shot by police. However, attorney Emilie Wesley knows a different story. Kaylene was a nurturer at heart looking for a way out of a controlling, abusive marriage. Kaylene's death shakes Emilie's world and her belief that she can make a difference for these women. Self-doubt plagues her, and she finds herself struggling to continue her work in the wake of tragedy.

Austen Billings thought he knew his sister-right up until he learned of the manner of her death. He receives a letter from Kaylene begging him to fight for custody of her daughters if anything should happen to her. No attorney in her right mind would take on his case, but Kaylene's letter claims Emilie Wesley will help him.

Thrown together in the race to save Kinley Turner from a father who isn't all that he seems, Emily and Austen pursue the constantly evasive truth. But if they can hang on to hope together, maybe they can save Kinley-and find a future for themselves in the process.

    Such a great book!

I had never read any sort of suspense novel before, but I am so glad I picked up this one. Imperfect Justice follows a legal battle for the custody of a young girl. The characters were charming, yet strong. The story line drew me and kept me until the very end. I found this book easy and enjoyable. This book isn't very appropriate for teens, and adults affected by abuse may want to use caution as some topics in this book could be quite distressing. But otherwise, I would wholeheartedly recommend that you read this book!

    Solid inspirational legal thriller

Imperfect Justice is an excellent mix of legal thriller and romantic suspense. There is plenty of suspense, lots of legal problems, and enough romance to make sure it doesn't all get too heavy. And while it's dealing with women in abusive situations, it's hard-hitting without being explicit. \\r\\n\\r\\nImperfect Justice is the second book in Cara Putman's Hidden Justice series, following Beyond Justice. The stories follow a group of female attorneys, so work as standalone stories. Recommended for fans of legal thrillers and romantic suspense from authors such as Rachel Dylan, Carrie Stuart Parks, Colleen Coble and Lynette Eason. \\r\\n\\r\\nThanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
