    Sweet but surprisingly deep

Poor Marisa - the last place she wanted to go was back home to the tiny town she grew up in with its too-many-memories, most of them painful. Thankfullly for us, she did, since this book would have been nothing without her. I loved her journey, and that of hero Blake, as they worked through not only a whirlwind romance but the realities of bitterness and unresolved anger. There were so many layers - in the relationships, the resort, the characters. A really beautiful story. And I'm loving the resort. Every book in this series I fall more in love with its people.

    Love grows in Firefly Valley

This is book two of Amanda Cabot's Texas Crossroads series, but although I prefer to read the books in order, it is not strictly necessary for this series. This is the story of Marisa St. George, who goes to work in her hometown of Dupree after being laid off from her accounting job in Atlanta. There she is reunited with her father, and meets author Blake Kendall who is trying to overcome writer's block with a change of scenery. \\r\\nAll the main characters have important issues to face In Firefly Valley, including alcoholism and its lasting effects on the alcoholics family, uncontrolled anger, and secret keeping. The characters were likeable and realistic, and it was a pleasure to see them mature in their faith and relationships during the story.
