    Dense introduction to philosophy

Geisler introduces readers to the main areas of philosophical enquiry. He covers a variety of philosophical positions on each issue. At times it can be a dense read, and the reader may wish Geisler had drawn out more of the relevance for the Christian. This volume is a challenging read that may not be for everyone.

    A helpful introduction

Geisler has a way of explaining philosophical concepts in a way that is very easy to understand. He is somewhat Hegelian in his approach, which can be helpful, but at the same time perhaps makes his positions on things seem more convincing than they really are - particularly in ethics. All in all though, for a beginner in philosophy, I can wholeheartedly recommend this book as a starting point.
