'Unpredictable yet reliable, gentle yet powerful, authoritative yet humble, human yet divine.' At a time when interest in Jesus has never been higher, respected pastor and bestselling author Tim Keller takes a deep and thought-provoking look at the life of Christ. Drawing from Mark's gospel, he explains how Jesus' identity as king and his purpose in dying on the cross have meaning and significance on a cosmic scale as well as for the individual. THE REASON FOR GOD gave a passionate and intellectually compelling case for God, while THE PRODIGAL GOD explored the gospel's central message of grace. Now KING'S CROSS gives a captivating account of the person at the heart of it all: Jesus. Written in Keller's trademark authoritative yet inviting style, this book will unlock new insights for believers and unbelievers alike.

    Essential reading for young Christians

Great walk through of the key themes of the gospel of Mark- presents Christ's life and teaching in an easy-to-read fashion. Cuts to the core of the readers' underlying motivations and desires and challenges them to rely on Christ wholeheartedly, not halfheartedly. \\r\\n\\r\\nKeller's conversational brand of writing makes this book so much more personal and helps reveal the relevance of Jesus' mission both in the context in which it was written, and in our context today. Would be a great 1:1 resource to read with a new Christian, or someone exploring Christianity.

    Gospel of Mark

This is an excellent book that shows the developing story in the Gospel of Mark. Keller explains clearly the passages in Mark through making the readers aware of the context, as well as using many illustrations. Most importantly, Keller hones in on various heart issues in believers as well as non-believers, and directs and challenges them to look upon beauty of Christ. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis book will challenge and convict new and mature believers, yet will also show the need of the Gospel to non-believers.

    What a Weapon

Keller is deep. And insightful. If you pray for the Spirit to teach and reach this book is a weapon in your hands - and in those whose hands you gift it to.
