Love Lives Here

I really loved this book. As Maria says in the beginning it is a scrapbook of thoughts. I was encouraged by the real stories of life and living a life of love each day. Maria constantly points us back to Jesus and who we are in him. A very encouraging book for mums especially to read. Very freeing

I didn't get very far through this book, as it didn't take me long to work out that this was a book of life stories, very loosly tied to Christian ideals and morals. \\r\\nThere is nothing inherently wrong with the stories themselves, they are interesting and well written, but problems arise if you are looking to learn from this book, whether about love, about living as a christian, or about God himself. \\r\\n\\r\\nI think we should always be careful when starting with examples from one's life and drawing conclusions from them, rather than first going to the Bible and then applying this to our lives. It was only after starting reading the book that I read the book summary,""""Love Lives Here is a collection of stories that include the ways Maria and her husband, Bob, navigated family their way, without clear instructions or a road map. . . """" -and immediately it made sense why any references to scripture were so scarce as I was reading. \\r\\n\\r\\nWhat's more, I found the subtitle of this book awfully vague 'finding what you need in a world telling you what you want', and if anything, the introduction made the waters murkier. This book does not seem to have a clearly defined purpose or focus, and of all the books out there to aid you in your Christian walk this one is not worth your time.
