Helpful book for leaders at all stages of development

Clinton presents his research and experience of leadership development. The book looks at examples of biblical, historical and modern characters and their leadership development. Clinton presents stages of leadership development through the lifetime of a leader. The book tends toward focusing on leadership development within vocational ministry; although leaders in all fields would benefit from the principles. \\r\\nThe primary strength of the book is the practical, well organised presentation of the material. His guidelines of stages of development allow for relatively simple categorising and analysis of where a leader may be at in his or her development. He offers a very insightful perspective on leadership development and how to move forward. \\r\\nHelpfully, he offers warnings about the dangers of missing opportunities. \\r\\nA weakness of the book is his use of biblical examples. Its unclear whether he imports his research into the Bible or his research is based on examples from the Bible. Unfortunately, it seemed at times like the example was stretched to fit the point he was trying to make. \\r\\nA helpful book for leaders, primarily those in vocational ministry, at all stages of development. \\r\\n
