    From the Heart

The telling of Naomi's seasons is beautiful. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to be enlightened about life in Nepal, challenged about the seasons of life and encouraged that God is always near. \\nThe only thing that I found a tad annoying were editorial mistakes. There were numbers for footnotes, but no footnotes and the typesetting was in need of tweaking. \\nBeautiful writing from the heart. \\n\\n

    Moving

This is really well written making it easy to read. \\nIt was an honest look into the life of the author, with many struggles and difficulties. This honesty is what I appreciated most in this book, as often we do not hear or see behind the scenes of the """"ordinary"""" Christian. We see the reflections and lessons learnt, answers to prayer, and the understanding of God's providence in retrospect. All things that are important for Christian living. \\nLife is hard, but we have God.

    From the Heart

My Seventh Monsoon by Naomi Reed\\nNaomi Reed writes with heart in a very readable style. My Seventh Monsoon beautifully details Naomi and her husband Darren's first season serving in Nepal as young physiotherapists who wanted to make a difference. The beauty of Nepal, the relentless rain and the culture adjustments, as well as their grief in struggling to have a child and giving birth in a country with limited medical facilities are all explored, as well as their time back in Australia and decision to return to Nepal with their young family. I love Naomi's writing and am currently relishing the second in this series, 'No Ordinary View'. Highly recommended. \\n

    Beautifully written

Such a beautiful read. Naomi writes with such honesty and Godly reflection. I would describe My Seventh Monsoon as a devotional diary of sorts. In the book Naomi records events and struggles she faces as she serves as a missionary in the Himalayas and shares how God taught her more about Him through them. The lessons she learned in the Himalayas were still relevant to me in the Australian suburbs and my life has been shaped by this book. I highly recommend this book to women of all ages.

    Encouraging

This is a wonderful autobiography about the beginning of Naomi Reeds time in Nepal. I have heard Naomi speak at a Christian event, and she writes in the same way - to encourage her readers. This book is much more than details and dates, it is the account of a woman's emotional response to a very new environment (from Sydney to a Himalayan wet season) and the struggles that this brought. The account helpfully points to God's work at every point in her journey. This is an encouraging read for any woman (or man, though I think it will be better-received by a woman!), particularly one who thinks with her heart :)
