4. 5 stars. I started reading this historical romance novel on my way home from work, I was so engrossed I nearly missed my stop! This is a page turner for sure, I had to read the rest all in one sitting, staying up past midnight. Though this is the 2nd in a series, it can be read as a stand alone (I have not read the 1st book. ) Even though you know everything will turn out ok in the end, there is a sense of urgency to protect Eva and Bram in their different situations. I like that the myriad of characters whom you do not know everything about and the plot twists are very well done. The Christian messages of grace and forgiveness are apparent and done in a real-life altering way. I may just have to go get a copy of the 1st in the series, but I will definitely be scooping up #3 when it is available.
