Fifteen years after she left Prince Edward Island, Natalie O'Ryan had no plans to return. But when her fiancé, music producer Russell Jacobs, books their wedding in her hometown and schedules a summer at Rose's Red Door Inn, she sets out to put the finishing touches on the perfect wedding. But she can't possibly prepare for a run-in with Justin Kane--the best friend she left behind all those years ago after promising to stay.
Justin's never forgotten Natalie or the music career he always dreamed of pursuing. He'd been prepared to follow her off the island until his dad died and he was left to run the family dairy farm. He's done the best he can with the life that was thrust upon him--but with Natalie back in the picture, he begins to realize just how much joy he's been missing.
After Natalie's reception venue falls through, she must scramble to find an alternative, and the only option seems to be a barn on Justin's property. As they work together to get the dilapidated building ready for the party, Natalie and Justin discover the groundwork for forgiveness--and that there may be more than an old friendship between them.

As a child I read and re-read the 'Anne of Green Gables' books enough times to feel as though I personally know the location of Prince Edward Island. And reading 'On Love's Gentle Shore' felt like being in a modern version of Avonlea! (Enhanced by the fact that the red-headed, hot-tempered Natalie seems very like Anne Shirley!) This was a lovely, sweet love story with a great Christian theme. I now plan on reading the rest of the books in the series.

Absolutely beautiful
This book was so much more than I ever expected - in a good way! From the first chapter, I found myself drawn in to Natalie's story and the depth of it. I wasn't just reading it, I was living it alongside her - aching with her pain, wondering if I could ever learn to trust again, watching everyone around her, searching for hope, slowly falling in love. . . My life is nothing like hers and yet I found myself relating to her all too easily. \\r\\nAn absolutely beautiful story and one I couldn't recommend highly enough. So sad it was the last in the series (guess I'll just have to go back and read all three again!). These characters have been etched in my heart forever. \\r\\n

Great series finale
The computer ate my original review, full of detail and description, so I don't feel like doing it all again. But I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it could be read alone, although it's even better if you can read the series in order, and I highly recommend this book.

Very Engaging
I was drawn into the story from the start. It is the third book in the Prince Edward Island Dreams series. Although you can read it without having read the earlier books, you will get more out of it if you have read the others first. This story is much more than just a romance. I love the depth of this story and the characters and their journey of discovering who God made them to be and how he uses everything to make them the people that they are. I can't say much without spoiling it but you won't be disappointed with spending the time to read this engaging story.
