Amanda Beiler could never have imagined the course her life would take when she happened to meet Alejandro Diaz. After catching the eye of the Cuban superstar, she hesitantly decides to leave her small Amish community in order to save it from the relentless attention of the paparazzi. Away from her close-knit family and the familiar rituals of her faith for the first time, Amanda goes on tour with the famous singer, and as she begins to see the world under Alejandro's care, she starts to appreciate life beyond the boundaries of home. Meanwhile, Alejandro is changing, too, and remembering what it feels like to be with someone who wants him despite--not because of--his celebrity.

As their connection grows stronger and their differences shrink, Amanda will have to make a difficult choice: Return to her old life among the Plain, or stay in the limelight with the man she loves?

    Very disappointing for Christian Fiction

This is the second book in a series following a Cuban hip-hop star and a young Amish girl whose worlds literally collide. I do not recommend any of the books in the series (the novels are not 'stand alone') for the following reasons: 1. The hero professes to have faith in God, but has built a career performing music that contains explicit and immoral lyrics (this becomes apparent from the second book on); 2. The hero repeatedly blasphemes in Spanish; 3. Despite her Amish upbringing, the heroine does not see anything inconsistent with faith in God and writing, performing, or singing such music; 4. The heroine gradually compromises more and more in order to fit into the hero's world; 5. The hero and heroine appear to have a limited understanding of the Bible and experience no spiritual growth; 6. The romance is quite sensual and the hero promotes (and has lived) a promiscuous lifestyle; 7. The bulk of the series is spent trailing the hero and heroine while they meet each other, deal with the paparazzi, perform, pander to their fans, give interviews, and attend awards ceremonies and parties, and so on.
