    Story of Burmese Karen

Rebecca Davis has a great way of outlining missionary work, not just from the perspective of one western missionary, but covering many aspects of God at work in an area through many different people and various cultures. This engaging history of Christianity coming to the Karen and other tribes around the Burmese border highlights the grace of God that existed BEFORE western missions reached these people groups. Prevenient grace was evident in the stories passed down in this culture for generations before white contact (as first outlined in Don Richardson's book Eternity in their Hearts). I love the books Davis has authored, including this one, however I feel this book was slightly rushed through the editing process as there are a few minor grammatical errors. Regardless, in my opinion Davis is fast becoming the leading author for children's Christian literature of substance.
