Great finale to an engaging series

This is the 5th in the Alaskan Courage series, this time focusing on the relationship between vet Kirra and the youngest of the hunky, outdoorsy McKenna clan - Reef. They've had their differences in the past, but are thrown together when working on the search-and-rescue team for the gruelling, annual Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska. Kirra's uncle Frank has missed a checkpoint, but it turns out he's not in need of rescue. His daughter Amy has been kidnapped and the only way to save her is to do exactly what the kidnappers want, even if it harms the environment and countless people in the process. As Kirra and Reef follow clues and red herrings, they can't deny their growing attraction. But Reef doesn't know the terrible secret that has plagued Kirra for a couple of years. The people she loved have let her down. Can she trust him with her heart, will they save Amy, and will they get out of this alive?\\n\\nThis is one of the best books in the series. The intricate plot deals with some deeper issues of trust and faith. I also liked seeing characters from the earlier novels in the supporting cast. The Alaskan setting is awe-inspiring, and there's enough tension to keep the pages turning. The environmental issues added an extra dimension. This story is self-contained, so you could read it as a stand-alone. However, you'll know more about the other characters' back stories if you read them in order. A worthy conclusion to a heart-warming, action-packed series.

    Enthralling

Although Skiing/mushing isn't my interest, Dani had me wanting more- more of Reef and Kirra, more of the thrill and more of the story. One link snowballed to another and all of a sudden it is more than just environmental protests. A carefully planned story that made logical sense. I was smiling the whole way. I love how the McKennas are always there for each other. Yes, it reminds me of Dee Henderson's O'Malley series and I love it. Somehow they are all able to entangle themselves into each other's work in ways that don't arise suspicion and questions. The banter at the end as a family brings life, and I was satisfied.

    Enjoyable

I've read the previous 4 books of the series and was really looking forward to reading Sabotaged \\r\\n\\r\\nWhile it's definitely a good worthwhile read with suspense and excitement woven through with the touching romance, it seemed a bit too repetitive to the first book of the series with the romantic side of the story and had me a bit disappointed. There were times I was asking myself if I had already read it when I knew I hadn't because it was so similar. \\r\\nHowever, that said, it was still a worthwhile and enjoyable read and good way to relax

    Excellent Romantic Suspense

Sabotaged is a fast-paced race against time as Kirra and Reef search for Meg and try to find why she and Frank have been targeted. Both Kirra and Reef have to address to some aspects of their past they are less than proud of, which adds a depth to the overall plot. It's hard to say anything more about why I liked it without giving away important plot details, so I'll just say I thought the suspense elements were excellent, and I loved the way the romance developed over the course of Sabotaged. Ah, Reef . . . \\r\\n\\r\\nSabotaged is the fifth and final book in Dani Pettrey's Alaskan Courage series, each of which follows the story of one of the McKenna siblings. Romantic suspense is one of my favourite genres, and I've enjoyed them all. Dani Pettrey's writing style is similar to Dee Henderson's, and I'd definitely recommend Sabotaged (and the rest of the Alaskan Courage series) to fans of Henderson's O'Malley series. \\r\\n\\r\\nThanks to Bethany House and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.

    Thrilling!

Pettrey has once again grabbed me within the first couple of pages. \\r\\nGun Point! Kidnapping! Hidden agendas! Entitlement! Love of Family and Sleuthing! Who's actually watching them? All great aspects of a good suspence. \\r\\nWho is Frank Jacobs? Kirra and Reef ?? unlikely, but come on, yes!\\r\\nReef is a changed man because of his surrender to Christ. His reputation may take a little to overcome though. \\r\\nKirra's story is heartbreaking and inspiring. As it's unravelled you see the strength that she has and the healing that\\r\\nis possible in Christ. Kirra is right to be cautious and watchful of the change in Reef. Is it lasting? It's beautifully part of a redeemed future. \\r\\nAnd of Course the truth behind it ALL. \\r\\n\\r\\nYou'll love it and enjoy every page turning shift in the storyline. \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n
