Secrets (#01 in Glenbrooke Series)

I read this book as a 15 year old and then realized it is aimed more at older young women. Even so this book was a delightful read with the main character facing numerous challenges as she tries to hide her true identity. I love it hoe Robin Jones Gunn involves characters from other books into each of her stories and was glad to see someone from the Christy Miller series appear in this book.

In this first book of the series (yes, there are more!), you'll meet Jessica, a woman trying to escape reality, like we've all tried to do once or twice! Through the kindness of strangers and the love of the God they show her, she finds a place to call home and the freedom to be who she was created to be. A beautiful story of finding, accepting and loving one's self, with a sweet dose of romance and relatable biblical lessons thrown in as well.

Ladies, give yourself a treat! Find a comfy spot, with your favorite drink, turn your phone off and lose yourself in the pages of this wonderful book. From the opening page it will draw you in to the streets of peaceful Glenbrooke and you wont want to put it down until you've finished. It's packed with mystery, suspense, humor and romance as Jessica starts a new life in Glenbrooke. It's not all completely light hearted, but ministers to anyone who has a past that sometimes spills over to effect their present. So do yourself a favor, take a few hours off and love this book as much as I do.
