Serving without sinking is a short but deep book on Christian service. The first part of the book cuts deep as it looks at and indoors the wrong sinful reasons for service. It then turns to biblical gospel centres reasons for serving in the local church. This book would work well in small groups or as a required reading for anyone serving in your church.

What I loved about this book is how the author keeps Christ at the centre of what we do and why we serve and lead. For every leader, we need to keep in mind how we can best sustain ourselves in ministry and serve not from a place of guilt or obligation but a place of joy. This book is so helpful to keep pointing us back to how we can do that in and through Christ!

This book is a must read for everyone who desires to serve God with the right motivation. By radically changing the way you think about serving, it helps you to serve God not because He needs you but because He is a good Father who delights having His children work with Him. It also flips common focuses of serving God on its head by explaining that primarily Jesus serves us. With this mentality and only then can you be freed to be refreshed by your service as you are no longer the centre of it. Highly recommended!
