**Romantic Suspense's Rising Star Continues to Win Fans**
Blacklisted in the photography business when one of her shots causes a scandal, but desperate to somehow continue in the profession, Avery Tate answered an ad for a crime scene photographer. She fully expected to be laughed at, but crime scene analyst Parker Mitchell hired her outright--taking time to teach her the trade. Now she's half in love with the man, half terrified to even acknowledge her feelings, and completely hooked on the job--until the next crime hits too close to home.

Avery attends the gallery opening of a new photography exhibit to support her best friend who modeled for the show. The only image of her, though, is a chilling photo of her posing dead. Only the photographer insists he didn't take the shot, and Avery's friend can't be found. As Avery and Parker, along with Parker's brilliant friends, begin to dig into the mystery, they find themselves face-to-face with a dangerous, relentless, and deadly threat which could endanger them all.

    Good romantic suspense

This is the second in Dani Pettrey's Chesapeake Valor series. You could read it as a stand-alone, but it would probably be more meaningful if you read the books in order. The main characters, Parker and Avery, were introduced in the first book 'Cold Shot', but they can no longer deny their attraction when called to investigate the disappearance of Avery's friend Skylar. The girls met in the trailer park where they used to live. Avery has since gotten her life together, but Skylar has gone off the rails and Avery blames herself. A web of intrigue follows, as Parker and Avery begin to suspect that Skylar has been murdered. Most of the clues point to the sicko photographer who featured Skylar in a death-like portrait, but there are other suspects and motives too. \\n\\nThe plot was intricate and the leads were likable. Parker and Avery each have to work through issues of faith so that they can see a future together. It showed how Christ wipes the slate clean and makes us new creations when we come to him in repentance. There were a lot of POV characters though, which took the focus off the main couple a bit. I also felt there were a couple of times where suspense was foreshadowed and then fizzled out too quickly. Some readers may also find some of the scenarios re the villains a bit unsavoury, but I liked the edginess. I enjoyed it overall and will probably read the other books in the series. Fans of Christian romantic suspense would probably enjoy this novel. \\n\\n\\n\\n

    !!!AMAZING!!!

OH MY!!!! This book is so intense and suspenseful, I literally could not put it down. I am so excited to see how Dani has developed as an author and the way her suspense has truly developed. I was astounded with the plot and drawn in at every angle. The characters were real, and had you feeling empathy for them. (Which also meant you wanted to strangle some of them!!) But I absolutely thought this book was an amazing read and loved it.

    Intense

I can't believe how far dani has come as an author and developed strong plots! This seriously drew me in and I was so sure of the stories ending, but I became more and more unsure as the story continued. Not only that, but the way she developed the relationships between the various characters really developed dimensions \\r\\nOnly suggestion would be to potentially focus on a smaller character base
