A sabotaged plane. Two dead deep-water divers.
Yancey, Alaska was a quiet town...until the truth of what was hidden in the depths off the coast began to appear.
Bailey Craig vowed never to set foot in Yancey again. She has a past, and a reputation--and Yancey's a small town. She's returned to bury a loved one killed in the plane crash and is determined not to stay even an hour more than necessary. But then dark evidence emerges and Bailey's own expertise becomes invaluable for the case.
Cole McKenna can handle the deep-sea dives and helping the police recover evidence. He can even handle the fact that a murderer has settled in his town and doesn't appear to be moving on. But dealing with the reality of Bailey's reappearance is a tougher challenge. She broke his heart, but she is not the same girl who left Yancey. He let her down, but he's not the same guy she left behind. Can they move beyond the hurts of their pasts and find a future together?

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story that reminds readers that we have to accept God's forgiveness and not allow guilt and shame to control our lives. It was also a great suspenseful story.

Great romantic suspense set in Alaska
After being away from her hometown of Yancey, Alaska for 10 years, Bailey returns. Although she's now a changed woman, she can't forget the past and accept that she could be lovable. When she meets up with former flame Cole McKenna, it only strengthens her resolve to leave Yancey as soon as possible. However, a string of murders and a missing Russian artefact linked to her aunt's death, give her cause to stay. Can she help solve the mystery and bring the murderers to justice, while protecting her heart?\\n\\nI really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and cared what happened to them. I loved the exotic location. The Russian history angle added an extra dimension to the mystery. And of course there was a nice romance simmering in the background. The faith element was also well done, as Bailey grapples with whether or not she can truly be forgiven and live the life God wants her to live. The only thing I found a little annoying was that the author kept spelling out what Bailey was thinking, long after we had already gotten the message. Passages of dialogue were often interspersed with the thoughts of the characters, which slowed down the action at times. \\n\\nHowever, I did enjoy the book and kept turning the pages. I'll definitely be reading other books in the series. If you like Dee Henderson and Colleen Coble, you'll like this one. \\n

Pleasantly suprised
Ok, so I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. Author Dani Pettrey will draw you into the very endearing McKenna family and fall in love with Cole's protectiveness of Bailey whilst watching a Russian-Alaskan mystery unfold before you. Can't wait to grab the second copy in the series which continues the story between Piper Landon.

Fantastic!
What a great book! This is the first book I read by this author and she has quickly gone to the top of my favourite authors list. Half way through I realised I would want to keep reading and ordered the rest of the books in this series. A great suspense novel.
