    Great Read

I've read many books on covenant theology recently but this modern work on the topic keeps coming up in the notes and references (of recent publications). Those today who advocate a covenant theological approach to understanding the Scriptures would most likely have cut their teeth on this book. It is a good read, following closely the biblical texts as they unfold in the history of Israel beginning in the garden-old creation and moving successively and cumulatively towards the new heavens and earth-new creation. There is a lot of exegetical and textual work in this volume and covers most of the thorny questions that arise in such an analysis. Maybe those interested in the covenants of Scripture or covenant theology ought to start here and perhaps chase and follow references to older works. Pick up and read!
