Captivating. Multiple plots and twists. The truth never lies surface level, and when the tide comes crashing in, when the truth is revealed, Rissi and Mason turn everyone's world upside down. The artistic writing of Dani ensures uncertainties from The Killing Tide are answered yet makes sure you have new questions and curiosities for the third instalment. You will be kept hanging. Best read close to finishing the first book so you remain engaged in each character's story (unlike me the gap was too big - but I still enjoyed it). A great series, can't wait for it to continue.

This second book in the Coastal Guardians Series is another page turning suspense filled romance. CGSI Agent Rissi Dawson is just getting used to having old friend Mason Rogers on Team when they are chosen to investigate an accident on the oil rig off the North Carolina Coast. \\n \\nWhen evidence starts to show it might be more than an accident, and having survived a helicopter accident and with tensions on the rig escalating due to the rumour of a Curse from an old fisherman's tale, can Rissi and Mason and the CGSI Team unravel the knots to find the answers they need?\\n \\nHave totally enjoyed reading this new Pettrey store. Hope you will too.

Good Christian rimantic-suspense
This is the second book in Dani Pettrey's Coastal Guardians series, but you can read it without necessarily having read the first as it involves a new case. Rissi Dawson and Mason Rogers used to comfort each other when they both lived in a children's home run by a brutal man. They haven't seen each other for 10 years, but now have to work together to solve cases of murder and sabotage on an oil rig off the coast of North Carolina. Is it the work of eco-terrorists or is the answer closer to home? It doesn't take long for sparks to fly again between Rissi and Mason, and the romance is lovely. \\n\\nWe also see other subplots developing with other members of the Coast Guard Investigative Service. Goodness, there's so much romantic tension in that office that it's a wonder they get any work done! Definitely enough going on to warrant a few more books in this series. The characters are likeable, but also have interesting backgrounds and issues to deal with. \\n\\nThere are also other underlying issues to do with faith, trust, justice, so there's food for thought along the way. \\n\\nI enjoyed the book overall and would recommend it to anyone who likes Christian romantic-suspense.
