Since 1914 Cambridge has published *The Elements of New Testament Greek*, a bestselling textbook for scholars and students of the Bible. The original book by Nunn was replaced and succeeded in 1965 by J. W. Wenham's book of the same title; now Jeremy Duff has produced a new book to continue this long-established tradition into the twenty-first century.

Learning Greek is a journey of many steps. In this book each of these steps is explained clearly, and reviewed using questions and exercises. Lessons are ordered so the most important aspects of Greek are learnt first, and the vocabulary consists of the most commonly occurring words in the New Testament. Over 1,500 practice questions and exercises (with answers) cover every book of the New Testament and there is a New Testament passage to translate in almost every chapter. Free software and teaching resources can be obtained from the book's website. 354 pages, from Cambridge University Press.

Great introduction, although there may be a better option

Great introduction for those beginning their greek journey, although personally I found Danker to be more helpful, I would check out his intro first.

    Clear and Helpful

This was the book I used to read Greek and I found it so clear that I was able to read ahead of my classes and follow along quite well. An excellent resource for beginners.

    An excellent introductory Greek textbook

A great introductory Greek textbook for beginning Greek students. I think that it is a well organised textbook and I like how at the beginning it introduces both verbs and nouns straight away so that the student can begin to writetranslate sentences near the beginning - I think that this is a more helpful way of learning Greek than textbooks which only introduce one or the other (ie: nounsverbs) first and complete that before moving on. There are a few things which I found unhelpful about this textbook - he sometimes refrains from using technical language and tends to give only basic explanations for things which sometimes there are exceptions to (which, while helpful for the beginner does make getting to a higher level of Greek more difficult). The set out of the tables of Greek inflections and declensions is sometimes confusing and it doesn't give much of a big picture overview - which, again, is helpful so as to not overwhelm a beginner, but makes it more difficult when trying to put it all together. And he doesn't include accents (; ) I like accents) and also leaves out some rarer moods and tenses. Overall - I would still recommend this book as a great introduction to learning NT Greek. When teaching Greek I use it as a basis and supplement it with other material.
