Essential reading for those interested in the Holy Spirit

Professor Anthony Thiselton, an Anglican Churchman and scholar well know for his academic work in hermeneutics, covers all the bases in this volume. Addressing history through to theology, Thiselton engages in irenic and supportive dialogue with the Pentecostal stream of Protestantism, seeking after the common ground where it can be found, but never uncritically, and never at the expense of what he judges to be the truth. I am confident this book will not disappoint any reasonably objective reader; it will deliver welcome challenges regardless of where one sits on the pro-, cautious-, or anti- Pentecostal or Charismatic divide. """"The Holy Spirit in Biblical Teaching: Through the Centuries to Today"""" complements earlier treatments such as those by Professor Jimmy Dunn (""""Baptism in the Holy Spirit""""); Professor Fred Bruner (""""A Theology of the Holy Spirit""""); and Professor Gordon Fee (""""God's Empowering Presence""""), with each of whom Thiselton engages. This is a book well worth owning!
