I enjoyed this book all the way through. Yes, it starts with tragedy, but don't worry- it's not mopey & depressing. It's about her moving forward. I'm fascinated by the Amish way of life, & there are two Amish communities in this book. I love to learn about their way of life & compare similarities in their different ordnung. I learnt some new Pennsylvania Dutch words, too. A lovely, likeable main character (all the characters are great, actually). Beautiful farmhouse settings. Nothing inappropriate in this book. Just good, clean reading. I rarely give a 5 star.
