    Good Fun

A great novel to read in between series or if you want a change of pace, I'd say. Highly engaging and had something interesting on every page--the characters were fun to follow and though not the thickest book, it is not at the expense of the character depth or intriguing and fulfilling mystery of the plot. I've always enjoyed Victorian era fiction, and Griep's writing made me love it even more. A good, fun read, and I'm super keen for the next one!

    Great Read!

A wonderful read. A good old fashioned English adventure. I found it refreshing and enjoyable that Jackson and Kit weren't bumbling incompetent characters but strong and very capable. I enjoyed Griep's writing I find she paces the story well and brings the characters to life. I found the story engaging and interesting. Different to anything I've read recently and I really enjoyed it.

    So good!

This book was so much fun! From the first meeting of the two mains, I was laughing at the wit of their conversations and how they tried to outdo each other. I loved the story, with its intrigues and depth, but also all the history woven into it. I felt as if I'd been transported into the story-the grittiness of Blackfriar's Lane, the stink of the sewers, the stubborn pride of those in the lower parts of society. It was beautifully written and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author!

    Brilliant

Oh this book was so much fun to read. I loved the interactions between Jackson and Kit. I was drawn into this story from the beginning and couldn't put it down. I found the history of the lives of the poor in early London incredibly enlightening and interesting. I'm looking forward to next book in this series.
