What do Abraham Lincoln, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Louis Pasteur, and Florence Nightingale all have in common? They all changed the world - and they were all Christians. This inspiring book presents the surprising stories of faith behind twelve influential people of history.

What do Abraham Lincoln, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Louis Pasteur, Frederick Douglass, Florence Nightingale, and John D. Rockefeller Sr. all have in common? They all changed the world--and they were all Christians. Now the little-known stories of faith behind twelve influential people of history are available in one inspiring volume.

*They Were Christians* reveals the faith-filled motivations behind some of the most outstanding political, scientific, and humanitarian contributions of history. From the founding of the Red Cross to the family crisis that drove America's favorite president to his knees and cracked his religious skepticism, from the supernatural call that led a beautiful English socialite to save thousands of soldiers to the chance encounter on a train that led to the writing of *Ben-Hur*, the fascinating stories of these faithful history-makers will inspire, encourage, and entertain readers of history and biography.

Good book
Stories of famous Christians. It was a good read. However, everything is told from the author's perspective. The author's opinions can be quite distracting sometimes. Also, before reading this book, I was expecting to read how those famous Christians confronted difficult situations with the help of God. Nonetheless , I did not see that in the book.

Fascinating
This book is a fascinating insight into the lives of very influential people who have gone before. It includes some of their writings, struggles and beliefs. The stories of the people included in this book are inspiring to say the least. If you are called to greatness then get this book!

One of the best Christian biography books I have read.
This made fascinating reading. I never realised that some of these famous people were in fact Christians and that their life changing decisions were driven in part by their Christian beliefs. These people and their families are brought to life and I found the book to be inspiring.
