Tree By a Stream

This is a great book that surveys how some prominent Christians of the past understood and practised meditation. Each chapter focuses on one particular christian of the past - introducing them, noting a few significant works they had written, before more closely examining how they wrote and thought about meditation. It's interesting to see how each of these Christians value meditation highly, yet often approach meditation in different ways. It's a great book and topic to read about, particularly in a culture where everything is so fast paced - we run the risk of treating our faith in the same way.
