    Fascinating Insight

This book shows Josh McDowell's life up until he became a Christian in his early 20s. His father was a violent alcoholic whom Josh blamed for sending his mother to an early grave (not directly, but because of a broken heart over a shattered life). As his mother was morbidly obese, the family hired a helper for her called Wayne, who sexually abused Josh for years. By the time Josh was in his teens, he was filled with hatred and wanted to kill his father, to the point of actually wondering how he could do it and get away with it. He was an ardent atheist, and if he allowed himself to even entertain the idea that God existed, he had no time for a God that would allow such suffering to happen in his own family. \\n\\nWhen he met a group of Christians at college, they challenged him to prove that the resurrection was false, because if he could do that, the whole case for Christianity would fall apart. He took their challenge seriously and saved up so he could go to England and Europe to talk to scholars and research original documents first hand. Not only did he eventually come to the conclusion that the resurrection was true, but there was an incredible transformation in his own life that brought positive changes in his own family that were nothing short of miraculous. Encouraging

I listened to this audio book with my tweens, and we all loved it. She tells stories from her life, and then gives some encouragement and what she learned from the situation. The only issue I had with the book was with the reader. I am very familiar with Christine's speaking, and I found that this reader did not have the enthusiasm of Chris Caine. It was a very """"sweet"""" recording, but was missing the true passion that is Christine Caine.

Powerful story and a great read

This autobiography gives a amazing story of how a young man went to prove Jesus Christ did not exist but found out amazing evidence that he did. Easy to read and gives good facts to help a non Christian or new believer. Excellent book.

Wow! A powerful testimony of Josh Mcdowell. If you know someone who has been abuse as a child or needs help, this is a perfect gift. This is a story of forgiveness and healing. I was really touched. Highly recommend for everyone - Christians and non Christians. This movie is for all walks of life. Josh McDowell, you are an inspiration!
