A little slow starting, but soon I didn't want to put it down. This is an emotional read dealing with lots of painful things like death and bi-polar. Really good themes of love and family (not just in bloodlines). A really important message about getting help and not hiding things. The romance was sweet.

Enjoyed it
I liked this book. It's a nice story set in the 1980s about Austin Foster who is trying to keep the challenges her family is facing behind closed doors and hold it together both in public and private. The book addresses some serious topics like mental illness and the power of church community. I would suggest this novel is suitable for teenagers and adults. The characters in the book are quite charming as is the rural backdrop of southern USA and the storyline involves a romance. I must say it took me a while to get into it at first but a few chapters in I could not put it down.
