While in the midst of confusion and the personal anguish of infidelity in a marriage, there is something couples need to know--there is hope; marriages can heal; the authors of this book are living proof. More than ten years ago, Gary Shriver confessed to his wife, Mona, about a three-year affair, as well as a one-night stand. Though the impact of that confession was devastating, it wasn't the end of their marriage. In their deepest despair, Gary and Mona wanted to know a real couple whose marriage had survived infidelity. They wanted desperately for someone--someone who had been in that situation--to say to them, "You can get through this and learn to trust again!" But they could find no couple willing to be that vulnerable.
This is why the Shrivers have opened the pages of their lives and hearts to hurting couples everywhere. In "Unfaithful: Rebuilding Trust After Infidelity" Gary and Mona each share, from their own perspectives, the impact of adultery on their family, the strength they found in their faith, what it takes to endure, the importance of communication and forgiveness, and so much more. "With the Shrivers' help, couples can learn to move beyond crisis to a place where they can renew their hope, rebuild their trust, and ultimately, restore their marriages!"

Would highly recommend this book. The couple have been so brutally honest about their journey and have only written what the Holy Spirit told them to write, so each chapter hits a chord. \\r\\n\\r\\nI appreciated that it didn't just focus on the adulterer and paint a sad picture for the faithful spouse, but rather it focused on the things that may have been lacking in the marriage as contributors to the affair, but by no means excuses the adulterers actions. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis book has helped me avoid some of the traps the enemy can you into, and also practical advice about working through the hurts. It has also helped highlight to me some of the unhealthy habits I had picked up that needed to drop off my life. \\r\\n\\r\\nI am so grateful to these authors for their vulnerability which has led to much inner healing in my life in such a chaotic and unexpected time in my life.

Help in a time of trouble
In the first days of realising that my husband of 13 years had committed adultery for the past 6 months, I had no idea where to turn. The church is strangely silent on the subject of adultery and the only couples I knew who had dealt with adultery were divorced. My husband and I wanted to remain married, initially because of our children, but also because we believed it was God's ideal. He wants to restore broken people back to a place of wholeness and certainly never wants sin to win in our lives. I came to Koorong's website and searched """"adultery"""". 'Unfaithful' came up as one of the first few results. Although there was no review on Koorong's website, I checked out other sites for reviews and then came back to Koorong to order (I needed this book VERY quickly and Koorong has great delivery turn around). \\r\\nTo hear another Christian couple brave enough to share the story of how adultery rocked their world was such a balm to my very broken heart. They gave us hope that the future was not as barren as it currently looked and that a loving, trusting and satisfying relationship was possible, despite how it felt right now. Mona and Gary reach through the pages and walk along a shattered couple coming to terms with the nuclear wasteland they find themselves in after adultery is revealed. I've also devoured all on the Shriver's website """"Hope and Healing"""". I thoroughly recommend this book as a great place to start the healing process. \\r\\n
