Robin Jones Gunn reveals poignant truths from her life as well as from the lives of women in the Bible as she flips the notion that we are at the mercy of circumstances. She asks, what if God has dreams for you? What if he is accomplishing those dreams in the midst of shattered hopes? When life doesn't go as expected, it's easy to feel like a victim. We look at the events that have gone wrong and view our lives as impaired. What if we could see our future as God sees it? Would our view radically change if we understood we are indeed victims rather than of happenstance? God, the Relentless Lover, has vigorously sought you. He has instilled dreams in your heart that are grander than you can imagine. But the route to their fulfillment often is through a path you wouldn't seek. What if God wants to take the hopes that tug at your heart and enliven them? Are you ready to live inside the mysterious joy of being a victim of grace?

    Reassuring.

Reading author blurbs about women who write 'happy ever afters' and enjoy time with their family, knitting and gardening in their spare time etc can make those of us who live with chronic stress 24/7 feel envious. This book reassures us that it isn't quite like that and God has a purpose behind our disappointments and frustrations. Encouraging.

    A beautiful picture of grace

Robin Jones Gunn cleverly weaves her own story with the stories of various Bible women, and gentle moments of teaching Truth. Through this book, Robin invites women of all ages to see how God is working powerfully and intimately in their lives, for their good and His glory.

    Really Encouraging

Part biography, part Bible study, this book is easily the best I've read all year and I know I'll read it again and again. Robin intertwines her own story of monumental ups and downs with the stories of Biblical women who she's learnt from along the way. Robin uses her masterful storytelling skills to retell their stories in a way that made me feel as if I was reading their stories for the first time, and not the thousandth. They, like me, are victims of grace - women who've done nothing to deserve the incredible love and grace they've been given but have been showered with it all the same. Through days of pain, stress and struggling with the mundane-ness of life, this book (and Robin's story) restored my belief that the dreams God puts in our hearts are for a purpose and he alone can, and will, bring them to reality. \\r\\nDefinitely recommend this book!!!

    Powerful Reading

Wow! This book is part of Robin Jones Gunn personal story with the stories of women from the Bible paralleled in each chapter. \\r\\nThis book touched me on several levels. I love Robin's fiction books and to read this and find out the back story to the different series she has written added depth and reality to her fiction books. \\r\\nI cried through most of the book as God touched my heart and I learnt more about His incredible grace. The way Robin has intertwined the Bible women with her experiences made both her and the women's life stories something I could learn from and be encouraged by. I am now ready to dream again with God and believe that He will achieve His purposes in my life. An incredibly encouraging book.
