Finding the courage to give voice to stories of trauma, oppression, and internal shame is often difficult, but also is the first step to healing and freedom. This collection of documentary poems presents the voices of women from different times and places, sharing their pain and hope with great vulnerability and realism. Their stories invite readers on a reflective journey through our world's emotional landscape with the hope that you too will experience the healing that can come through using your voice to tell your own story. Patrice Carolyn Forrester is a licensed clinical social worker with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults as a mental health clinician. She is passionate about the arts and Christian spirituality in the facilitation of healing, especially in the lives of traumatized individuals.
