After the loss of her husband and the birth of her baby, Charlotte has had a long, hard year. But when a notorious robber believes she knows the location of a long-lost treasure, she flees to Cheyenne and opens a dressmaker's shop to lie low and make a living. When wealthy cattle baron and political hopeful Barrett Landry enters the shop to visit her best customer, Charlotte feels drawn to him.

If Barrett is to be a senator of the soon-to-be state of Wyoming, he must make a sensible match, and Miriam has all the right connections. Yet he can't shake the feeling that Charlotte holds the key to his heart and his future.

Soon the past comes to call, and Barrett's plans crumble around him. Will Charlotte and Barrett find the courage to look love in the face? Or will their fears blot out any chance for happiness?

    Romance and Mystery

Waiting for Spring by Amanda Cabot\\r\\n\\r\\nThis second novel in the Westward Winds Series could be deemed a mystery as well as a romance. Familiar characters are revisited with the main story line centering this time, on Charlotte and her young son. Though romance begins to blossom in at least one heart, fears from the past continue to haunt Charlotte and cloud her dreams for the future of her little family. \\r\\nThere is love, drama, death and despair woven through the story with unexpected delight. Throughout it all, Cabot, leads the reader on a clear journey of the need for relationship with our Heavenly Father, for through Him, all things are possible. I am sure many readers will enjoy 'Waiting for Spring', not just Amanda Cabot fans. \\r\\n

    Quality Christian Frontier Romance

Charlotte Harding is the dressmakerproprietor of Elan, the most fashionable shop in 1880's Cheyenne, Wyoming. She is also the widow of First Lieutenant Jeffrey Crowley who died a year ago in mysterious circumstances, and left her running in fear of the unknown 'baron' who was responsible for his death. Her only wish is to live a quiet life and protect her blind son with the help of her housekeeper, Gwen Amos. \\r\\n\\r\\nBarrett Landry is a successful ranch owner who is considering entering politics, but his advisors, Richard Eberhart and Warren Duncan, tell him he needs a wife. He has found the perfect candidate: Miriam Taggert, the daughter of a prominent local businessman. Although Miriam would be the perfect wife, he's not in love with her and he can't help being attracted to her dressmaker. . . \\r\\n\\r\\nI really enjoyed Waiting for Spring, and didn't miss anything by not having read the first book in the series, Summer of Promise. This is frontier fiction at its best, with a strong hero, a likeable heroine who has to come to terms with the fact that hiding her history means she is living a lie, and a strong cast of supporting characters, particularly Gwen, Miriam and David (Charlotte's blind son). The Christian elements are present but not overwhelming, and there was just the right mix of romance and suspense, and (almost) everyone gets what they deserve. Amanda Cabot at her best. \\r\\n\\r\\nThanks to Revell and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
