What Time Is Given (Large Print) (#01 in Brides of the Cascades Series)

For Elena Petrich, life in a Washington coal mining town means living every day on the brink of tragedy. She has grown up knowing that danger is never far from the men who descend into the earth each morning, yet the love of her family offers a shelter from the shadows of uncertainty.

Nick Fremont struggles with his family's judgmental attitude and finding his own purpose in life. Cold and rigid in their faith, his family left him more hollow than hopeful, but the Petrichs have become his anchor. His relationship with Elena has evolved into something more than friendship, but his anger at God keeps them apart.

A group of thugs running a protection racket threatens the well-being of the Petrichs and their neighbors. With no money to pay them, Elena and her family fear how far the criminals will go in their attacks. When further tragedy strikes the town, will Nick and Elena be able to find their way through the dangers of life in this coal town--and back to each other?
