A. W. Tozer (1897–1963) was an American pastor, author, editor, and influential devotional writer known for calling Christians to deeper worship, holiness, and intimacy with God. A largely self-taught theologian, Tozer served for decades within the Christian and Missionary Alliance and became editor of The Alliance Weekly. His best-known works include The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy, both enduring classics of Christian spirituality. Through sermons, essays, and books, Tozer encouraged believers to cultivate reverence for God, resist spiritual complacency, pursue Christ wholeheartedly, and develop a richer understanding of God’s character and presence.
