Francine Rivers is a New York Times bestselling author known for Christian fiction that explores faith, redemption, love, and transformation. After beginning her career writing for the general market, Rivers became a Christian in 1986 and later published Redeeming Love, a retelling of the biblical story of Hosea and Gomer set during the California Gold Rush.

Since then, she has written numerous bestselling novels with Christian themes, including The Last Sin Eater, and has received major literary honours such as the RITA Award, Christy Award, ECPA Gold Medallion, and Holt Medallion. Her work has been translated into more than thirty languages and continues to reach readers around the world.
