This was a strange question as one event had dominated most people's conversations that weekend: the execution of Jesus of Nazareth.
However, the ordinary-looking man was not as clueless as they first thought... "beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself". You see, their fellow-traveler wasn't just a random guy - he was Jesus himself.
This book will take us into that conversation Jesus had with Cleopas and his friend and what he was trying to help them understand. It will take us on a tour of some of what "Moses and all the Prophets" said about Jesus. Who were they talking to? What did it mean to those people? How was any of it about Jesus?
We will look at thirty different places in the Bible where you can find a prophecy about Jesus.
Each chapter has the following extra features:
* Prophet & Dates * Prophecy Made * Then and There * Prophecy Fulfilled * Scarlet Thread * Application * Prayer

30 Prophecies: One Story - How God's Word Points to Jesus$24.99
This large hardcover book is really nicely presented, it has quite a lot of words and minimal pictures on each page, but my 4 year old is starting to get into it. I really enjoy the layout - each double page covers one of the 30 prophesies, and has when and who first made the prophesy, a direct quote from scripture of the prophesy, some interesting info about the bigger story around this prophesy, then scripture quotes about it being fulfilled. There is then a scarlet thread section linking it clearly to Jesus, and some really great applications. Then it finishes with a prayer. I can see this being a great resource for our family for some time, and helps start children seeing the links between old and new testament, and how the whole bible relates and fits together, to tell one big story. The only thing I didn't love was the dedication on the first page,""""To his wife, around who the author orbits,"""" - not a big deal, but would personally only put God in that place. I would recommend it for 5 - 12 year olds.
