Lots of people assume that Christianity is simply a nice story for kids or a niche hobby for weirdos-or worse, unattractively restrictive. In this book, Ben Shaw invites sceptical readers to think again. He outlines seven reasons why Christianity is worth considering-or reconsidering-not least because it offers some thought-provoking and rational answers to our deepest questions. This warm, honest book shows that the Christian message is both more credible and more wonderful than we might have otherwise thought, and calls readers to investigate the person of Jesus for themselves.

    Winsome

Having been brought up in a Bible-loving home, I can give plenty of reasons for believing in Christ but Ben can truthfully say,""""I used to think . . . . too"""" about common misconceptions regarding Christianity, which is a great advantage. So this book is recommended for use every day people, rather than scholars in academia.

Gives this book away to many

Ben Shaw has left this earth to be with his Saviour and Lord, but he has left us with a fantastic book to give away to others so they can consider or re-consider the things of eternity, which Ben now sees clearly. A gifted Aussie servant that God used right 'til his last breath. Here is a short book that tackles 7 areas for the thoughtful person to examine about the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Written simply but not simplistic. Full of helpful illustrations and challenges to not depart this earth without thinking deeply about Jesus. Read it, then pass it to many. And then pray!

An open invitation to ask some really good questions about life, Jesus, and the Bible

This book is like an open invitation to ask some really good questions about life, Jesus, and the Bible. I didn't find it pushy, and at the end, it doesn't offer a sinner's prayer, instead it has some helpful suggestions for those who want to take it further and ask more questions. Ultimately, I would say it is set up to help people make an informed choice on whether the Bible is trustworthy and worth investigating. \\n\\nThe section that has stuck with me the most is a section on 'misheard lyrics'. In a similar way to how we can mishear certain lyrics, this book makes the case that the message of the bible can be also be misheard for various reasons. It then goes on to look at the misheard lyrics we often have about God, Jesus, and Heaven, and then presents us with the real lyrics according to the Bible. I love that it also makes a case for the intellectual credibility of the message of the Bible, and challenges those who write off the reliability of the Bible when really they are just assuming it is unreliable. \\n\\nThe copy I had was borrowed, upon finishing I promptly went out and purchase a copy for myself, and a few spares, as I have several friends this book would be perfect for.
