Historical, Western Romance with independently minded women
I enjoyed this late 1880s novel set in the Midwest of America. Though some of the dialogue in a couple of sections felt forced, the characters we likeable (or hateable if appropriate). I feel like the villain was too demented in his thinking, is anyone really that deluded? But I still love a happy ending and there were some really good moral take-a-ways. I liked the prayer and scripture and wrestling with doubts and fears that all can relate to. I look forward to the next in this new series.
