    Great reference

This book is based on his lecture series by a similar name at RTS which I believe is still available on iTunes that Dr Frame has been teaching for years. This is a great intermediate course into the intellectual lives that shaped our western civilization. The book begins with the greek and roman thinkers and makes his way to the present with a stong emphasis on the enlightment thinkers. Frame is a disciple of Van Til to whom he dedicates the book and he also give a critique of Gordon H. Clar's ideas - Van Til's nemesis. There are numerious apenecies included on various philosophical and theological ideas. Should be a must for western Christians esspecially in this day and age particularly here in Australia.

    Great reference guide

This book covers the most important figures in the history of western philosophy (both Christian and non) and summarises their views succinctly . Often my issue with these matters is that it is hard to get a general idea of what someone talked about and you get bogged down in unnecessary details. Not so with this book. I constantly use it as a reference guide when I want to know about a certain philosopher.
