Can we trust the scripture?
This is a great book by Piper on why we can have confidence in the Bible as the word of God. Piper doesn't focus much on Historical reasoning, but rather speaks to the average Christian about the glory of God that is revealed in the scripture. A very accessible book on the topic.

How we know the Bible is God's Word
Piper addresses the question of how an average Christian, without in-depth scholarly training, can know that the Bible is the Word of God. He goes deeper than simple traditional evidences for historical accuracy. Instead he methodically lays out the reason for the Old and New Testament canons, the reliability of textual transmission, the authority of the prophets and apostles and finally grounds this knowledge in the sight of the glory of God. This is a well-reasoned, rigorous book which also demonstrates pastoral warmth. Must-read for every Christian.
