I love the way the author and illustrator use the font and text size to cue readers how to bring the story to life for our little listeners.
As seen in the cover art, Jesus' family and visitors are illustrated as having had tanned skin and dark hair. This is a welcome departure from the illustrations in many of the other Christmas stories on our shelf.

Such a great book for Christmas! You can make reading it more fun by getting your child to help you make noise when it says in the book

Best children's Christmas book
Georgeous illustrations, engaging style, and doesn't stop at the nativity - tells the Good News too. Great engaging way to get children to whisper or shout as it's read. Nice that the pictures are accurate skin tones of Middle Easterners too. Will be giving it to all my friends' children.
