Amy Carmichael Story (Torchlighters Heroes Of The Faith Series)

I had heard of Amy Carmichael before but really knew nothing about her and while watching this DVD with my 6 year old son I learnt so much and was greatly inspired and gained a greater understanding of the Indian culture and the challenges faced by missionaries. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis DVD is great for children aged 8-12 and even younger and would be great for use at home or in a School or Sunday School. \\r\\n\\r\\nI use it as a part of my sons home schooling and Christian education.

For young children, Amy Carmichael (and all the Torchlighters series for that matter) are excellent. I love how the life of this humble servant has been captured in a half hour children's animation to give the children an overview of what one person can do who decides to follow Jesus wherever He leads. Amy gave up her comfortable life to live among the poor in India. Considering we're in a country where we don't often see the poor and afflicted, dvd's like these are an opportunity to see what happens in the rest of the world, and what the Body of Christ is doing about it. The animation is also followed by an hour long documentary with much more detailed information on the life of Amy Carmichael.
