    Expositor turned Systematician

Prolific author and well known preacher John MacArthur after having spent most of his ministry expositing the NT and famous for his study notes turns to writing a Systematic Theology. This is a collaborative work with another professor from the Master's seminary which he established. I have been personally blessed by his ministry over the years and though not convinced of his eschatological position I have been interested how his understanding compares to the traditional dispensational schema that is promoted by DTS. I am encouraged by the publication of this book and hope it will be a blessing to many who admire and follow his ministry through """"grace to you"""" both near and far. His influence has been deeply felt and appreciated in the evangelical world. \\nHe deviates somewhat from dispensational premillennialism by advocating something he calls futuristic premillennialism still maintain a distinction between Israel and the church. I quote """"As a refinement of dispensational premillennialism, futuristic premillennialism affirms a futuristic view of Daniel's seventieth week (Dan. 9:27), which includes the events of Matthew24 and the judgments of seals, trumpets, and bowls described in Revelation 6-18. Not only is the millennial kingdom of Revelation 20 future, so too is the tribulation period that precedes the millennium. """" As a reformed Christian found topical arrangements helpful and closely tied to the biblical text free of detailed dogmatic formulations.
