C.S. Lewis: The Writer Who Found Joy (Here I Am! Biography Series)

Not every author can write about a wardrobe and a lion and end up delighting readers for generations. But then again, not every author is C.S. Lewis. This biographical picture book welcomes readers to get to know the man behind Aslan and Narnia and to experience the joy that inspired him.

Young Clive Staples Lewis once loved imagination and play but was unable to trust God after the death of his mother. He left behind a belief in God and became an atheist and a professor. But he never stopped hoping to find joy. This unique picture book, narrated by a bespectacled owl, tells the tale of how the once reluctant Lewis slowly embraced Christianity, was surprised by joy, and then used his words and writings to share that joy with the world.

Daniel DeWitt, author and C.S. Lewis scholar, summarizes the life of Lewis in a way that is engaging and inspiring. Young readers will walk away not only wanting to know more about the life and faith of Lewis but wanting to discover their own joy in Christ as well.
*C.S. Lewis: The Very Happy Christian* is the second book in the *Here I Am!* biography series for kids, which highlights fascinating and faithful Christians in history.Read less
