Casting Crowns

This is the first Casting Crowns CD I had bought, over 10 years ago. Honest and truthful lyrics that I still play in my home today. Solid Christian music. I personally would liken this particular bands music and resolve to that of the Christian Rock Band - Petra. Who have in my opinion stood the test of time over many many years, and who are known for their strong faith in Christ.

What draws me to the music are the lyrics. They are honest, down-to-earth, and promt you to think, really think, about what is being sung. """"What if people prayed"""" draws attention to the lack of prayer in the world, and so what would happen if we prayed? We would be surrending things to God, looking to Him for guidance, strength, laying down our burdens at his feet. My personal favourite song is """"Who am I"""". It's such a humbling song. Who am I that God should die for me? Who am I that he knows my name? But he loves me. He loves you. It's a song that gives one value. It gave me value. This is the kind of message Casting Crowns convey and deliver.

This album when it first was released became an all time favourite that I still find refreshing and touching to listen to. The songs are so powerful and the lyrics genuine in heart and meaning! The core theme at the heart of the album is one of identity in Christ, not of this world. It is an album challenging us as Christians to be of courage as we act as Christ followers!
