    Clear and Useful

I've used Erickson to prepare for two theology exams and I have found him to be the most useful. The way he structures his chapters is clear and really useful for mentally holding onto his concepts. Super helpful for theology students and a great introduction to systematic theology that will benefit any believer who wants to dig deeply into the faith.

    Excellent book on Systematic Theology

This book is perhaps more aptly named """"Systematic Theology"""", however it does have some very helpful sections on broader disciplines like philosophical, biblical and historical theology. Erickson's writing is clear, engaging, and contemporary, and discusses doctrine clearly and in relation to other perspectives like phenomenology, liberation theology, and cultural-linguistic views. The chapters are well organised, the footnotes are clear and helpful, and the whole volume is well indexed. This is a great book for someone studying theology at the master's level, particularly those from a reformed theological background engaging with Catholic theology. Great price too, for a 1000 page hardback! For an academic review, see: Canoy, Robert W. """"Christian Theology, 3rd ed. , by Millard J. Erickson. """" Review and Expositor, Vol. 111, no. 4 (2014): 425-26, Highly recommended to new students of systematic theology.
